New friend

Jacob has a new friend in our neighborhood. He is six years old, nice and fun to play with. "The cool kid on the block." His name is Kevin and Jacob talks about him non-stop. Here is a picture of Kevin helping Jacob ride his bike.   emily

Is it time to eat?

This is the kid that puts everything in his mouth. Yes everything! The other morning I was putting make-up on in my bathroom and when I turned around this is what I saw. My Andrew with something other than food in his mouth. The other morning Kelly pulled a huge moth out of his mouth. Kelly thought it was just a leaf but as he pulled it from his mouth it was a ginormous moth. Andrew is always hungry and always eating. Today Jacob had pulled a chair up to the pantry, pulled the bread down and was breaking it like duck bread and feeding it to Andrew.  I wish I had a picture of that. . .  emily

3rd Birthday!

Today was Jacob's 3rd birthday. We had a great day. We made a cake together. We went to i-burger, a fun burger place near our house. Jacob wanted to ride his trike to burgers then go to the park. He was so cute. This morning I was going to make sticky burritos, a meal Jacob likes. But Jacob informed me we were going to burgers and a park, so that is what we did. Here a few cute pictures from the day!  emily

Birthday continued

Here are more picture from Jacob's birthday day! It was a train filled day. He loves Thomas the train. He was so into playing with his new trains that he walked away from his cake to play. This is a kid who also loves cake . . . emily

Tubes

Andrew before surgery
Andrew after surgery
Also after surgery
Yesterday September 2nd, Andrew went into have tubes put in his ears. It was minor surgery but still surgery. As we sat in the waiting room at Children's Hospital in Seattle with babies going in for brain and major heart surgery, I felt so blessed and grateful! A nurse escorted us to a private waiting room and went over what we should be expecting for the day. Fussiness, crying, not knowing what he needs or wants, discomfort etc. Andrew went back with the anesthesiologist with a smile on his face, then returned about an hour later with that same sweet smile on his face. What an amazing spirit this young little guy has. He had a great day overall . . . emily

New house

We moved into our new house this last week. We have been unpacking like crazy people. I love my new house. It is definitely an emily house. Kelly found this house online and asked our real estate agent to take us to see it. Before entering the house Kelly said, "now emily, I know this is the smallest house that we have looked at, but see it with open eyes. It is your style of house and in a great location." As we walked in I loved it from the start. It is definitely an emily house! I am loving the location and our neighbors are all so wonderful. We take a walk as a family after dinner every night. We walk to town and stop in the grocery store or to the local park or both. We are so blessed! --emily
