Halloween

I have on a Witch's hat and that is not Kelly's real hair!
What a fun night!
Today we had our family over for Andrew's birthday celebration and some outstanding trick-or-treating. It was a fun and perfect evening. The kids were all in costume. We had some dinner, cake and presents. Andrew ate his birthday cake like a pro--double fisting it. He had a blast. I gave him a quick bath and then we opened gifts. We all headed outside to some perfect trick-or-treating. My parents stayed back to answer our busy door and hand out candy. It had been raining all day and at about four in the afternoon it stopped. We had clear skies the rest of the evening. The crew that was left over after candy hunting came back to our house for some hot cider and train playing. Jacob Loves trains! --emily

Firehouse

What an awesome morning! We went to the firehouse here in Snoqualmie with our play group. The kids had a great time. The firemen showed us all through the house and the station. We saw where they slept and where they played. One cool fact that we learned while we were at the Snoqualmie fire station is there is no fire pole because it is a split level building. The upstairs is still at ground level. What a great day! --emily

Kite Flying

Grandpa Siple came out for a visit this weekend to celebrate his birthday as well as Kelly and Andrew's birthdays. We have had a great weekend. Sunday afternoon a big windstorm came through the area.  We had been planning to go to a park to play, so we brought our kites with us.  It was perfect kite flying weather.  Here are a couple of photos from the afternoon.  The boys had a great time. The pictures are a bit dark but that is what we get for going out so late.    --Kelly

Fall Leaves

Yesterday Jacob, Andrew and I walked to a local park near town. While we were there, Jacob noticed a large pile of leaves that the wind had gathered. Jacob stood there for a long moment looking and playing with the leaves. After some time of this Jacob looked up at me and said. " Okay mom that was fun. Can you put them back on the tree so we can do this next time we come to the park?" We had a good conversation about what our different seasons do to the trees. I still think Jacob was disbelieving that we couldn't put them back on the tree.  --emily

Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday we went to the Mt. Si Pumpkin patch near our house. Earlier this week I had asked Jacob if he wanted to go to the pumpkin patch with his friends the next day. He said, "No, I would like to wait and go on Saturday so dad can come with us." So we did! It was a perfectly warm fall day. We drank cider, played in the hay and enjoyed the hayride so much we did it twice. Drew was all smiles as always even as his big brother covered him in itchy hay. As we picked out pumpkins Jacob was more interested in the very large cows in the adjacent pasture. In the end we picked out great big pumpkins that we can't wait to carve.

Bus Washing

On September 3rd Jacob and I went to the Bus barn to help Grandma wash her bus. This is a annual event. Every year before school starts grandma has us out to help her. Grandma does this for the kids. They love this day and look forward to it every year. --Kelly

Halloween Quilt

I have been working on a Halloween quilt for about 3 years. That is not an exaggeration. I have finally finished it before Halloween this year! Here is a cute picture. emily

Date Night

Last night Kelly and I had a date night. We went out for a nice meal without being climbed all over by kids. If you have ever had a meal with us, you have seen this in action. It looks like a small ant hill. Our friend Ann came over to watch the kids. They had a great time and Jacob can't stop talking about all the fun . . . emily
