Birthday continued

Here are more picture from Jacob's birthday day! It was a train filled day. He loves Thomas the train. He was so into playing with his new trains that he walked away from his cake to play. This is a kid who also loves cake . . . emily

Tubes

Andrew before surgery
Andrew after surgery
Also after surgery
Yesterday September 2nd, Andrew went into have tubes put in his ears. It was minor surgery but still surgery. As we sat in the waiting room at Children's Hospital in Seattle with babies going in for brain and major heart surgery, I felt so blessed and grateful! A nurse escorted us to a private waiting room and went over what we should be expecting for the day. Fussiness, crying, not knowing what he needs or wants, discomfort etc. Andrew went back with the anesthesiologist with a smile on his face, then returned about an hour later with that same sweet smile on his face. What an amazing spirit this young little guy has. He had a great day overall . . . emily

New house

We moved into our new house this last week. We have been unpacking like crazy people. I love my new house. It is definitely an emily house. Kelly found this house online and asked our real estate agent to take us to see it. Before entering the house Kelly said, "now emily, I know this is the smallest house that we have looked at, but see it with open eyes. It is your style of house and in a great location." As we walked in I loved it from the start. It is definitely an emily house! I am loving the location and our neighbors are all so wonderful. We take a walk as a family after dinner every night. We walk to town and stop in the grocery store or to the local park or both. We are so blessed! --emily

Head shot

In our new ward the nursery has pictures posted up of the kids. On the way out of class today the leader asked if we would email her a head shot of Jacob. Getting Jacob to sit still for a photo has always been a challenge. We came home from church and I sat Jacob down so we could take a head shot. I was hoping I could capture at least one useful photo. This is what the photo shoot looked like today. Very funny! emily

Drawing

What a fun day drawing and playing with Grandma Renee. Jacob and Grandma were in the craft room playing. As I walked in, Jacob's paper had a few drawing markes on it but so did his nose. Yes, Ann he does this all the time! Not just with you... emily

Moving week

Here is a cute picture of the boys on moving / packing week.
So we have sold our house and are completely moved out and all of our belongings are in storage. We are living out of suite cases until our new house closes the last week of August. We are so excited and can't wait to be back in our own beds. Jacob is feeling the most stress of this situation. He is sleeping horribly and waking up disoriented. We can't wait till life is all back to "normal".   emily

Barking dog

We are sitting eating breakfast when Jacob hears a dog bark. He runs to the window looking for the dog and this is what he says: "Mom I can't see the dog, I need my glasses. Mom where is the dog? Can you go and get my glasses so I can see the dog?" So my cute 3 year old is in a house with people who wear glasses. It wasn't that he couldn't see the dog. The dog wasn't in sight.  emily

What a big brother is good for?

Helping a little brother become Big!

I was in the kitchen packing up the food and dishes when it was all too quiet, so I went to the back of the house to check on the boys to find this! Jake had put "Underoos" on Drew. They were pulled up perfectly but on backwards. You have to hand it to the kid, great job Jacob! Love, mom

Muffin

This is a real conversation that Jacob and I had today:

Jacob: Hey mom where did you buy these muffins they are so good?

Emily: I didn't buy them at a store I made them.

Jacob: No Mom what store did you buy them at?

Emily: Jacob I made them last night for you with Love.

Jacob: No mom you bought them when you where in California last night.

Emily: I didn't go to California last night.

Jacob: Yes you did!

Okay so according to my almost 3 year old I had a vacation last night. All I can remember was a 3 year old that wouldn't stay in his bed, and kept kicking me in the back. Is that California?

We are moving!

We have sold our house! If you have ever sold a house, you know what this simple act of having your house on the market is all about. Keeping your house clean all day, this with two kids is impossible. Oh and don't forget every time you leave for that 10 a.m. play date. You have left your house perfect so if by chance a real-estate agent wants to bring a client through, your house looks and smells clean. No evidence of Jacob's breakfast that was partially eaten and mostly moved to his chair, walls and floor. Or of the spit-up that Drew left behind from his morning bottle. Don't forget that morning poopy diaper--there is no trace of that either. So with all of this being said, my house has been a disaster for the past couple of days. This is the exhale of the past four months of a perfect house. I feel much better now. So tonight I am starting up the cleaning and laundry. Or should I say I am putting Kelly to work. So we can have a house that looks and feels clean again. emily
